Dr. Gordon H. Lamb, Interim President of the ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ of Missouri, will launch the 2007 ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ Unity tour in Springfield on Monday, October 29. Dr. Lamb will make a joint presentation with Dr. Michael Nietzel, President of Missouri State ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ.

Dr. Lamb and Dr. Nietzel are to appear together before a 3:30 p.m. meeting of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce at its headquarters, 202 South John Q. Hammons Parkway.

The presidents will discuss the common missions of Missouri’s public higher education institutions, including teaching, service and accountability. The presidents are focusing on a collaborative plan to increase graduates in the health care professions to meet the needs of Missourians. This is the second consecutive year the ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ of Missouri’s president has joined presidents of other four-year institutions on their campuses to discuss how they work together to help meet the state’s goals and needs.

This fall, Dr. Lamb and his public higher education counterparts have so far scheduled ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ Unity events at the ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ of Central Missouri in Warrensburg; Missouri Western State ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ in St. Joseph; Northwest Missouri State ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ in Maryville; Truman State ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ in Kirksville; and on the four ¾Ã²ÝÈȾòÝÊÓÆµ of Missouri campuses, in Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla and St. Louis.
